The word "biotensegrity" is a combination of ‘tension + integrity’ and applies to biological structures in the horse, such as muscles, bones, fascia, ligaments and tendons, which are made strong by the unison of tensioned and compressed parts within the horse's body.

When we can restore a horse's optimal state based on the concept of biotensegrity, the horse can move in a way that avoids injury and maintains long-term health. Its muscles, tissues, and bones all support one another in harmony, made strong through their mutual connections within.
